All About Me!!

Hello everyone!!! I'm Ms. Frasse (Rhymes with  Sassy). I am one of the five Gifted Intervention Specialists for Beavercreek City Schools. I will be teaching at Fairbrook Elementary and Valley  Elementary this year. I have been teaching 35 years, 19 of them in Beavercreek.  I am a resident of Beavercreek and went through the Beavercreek school system, graduating in 1979 from BHS (Go Beavers!). I have two amazing boys, one lives and works in Tampa, Florida and one lives and works in Denver, CO.  My oldest son is married, working in finance, owns his own business and he and his wife have two beautiful little girls.  My youngest son is also in finance and enjoying all that Colorado offers.!   I am very proud of both of them and excited to be a grandma to the two cutest little peanuts.

If you ever need to reach me, you may email me at cynthia.frasse@beavercreek.k12.oh.us , or phone me at  937-429-7616. I will post a monthly newsletter to my page so that you know what we are doing in class and any important events coming up.

Gifted Information

Curriculum

In the Beavercreek elementary schools, gifted pull - out services are provided to cognitively gifted 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. A licensed gifted intervention specialist delivers these services in a resource room setting for approximately 225 minutes a week.

The primary goal of the gifted curriculum is to address the gifted standards for creative/critical thinking and social/emotional needs as well as the power standards for Math and English Language Arts. This goal will be accomplished through a variety of extension and enrichment activities. These higher-level activities are intended to stretch the students' thinking skills and abilities.

Policies

Following are the policies for gifted services:

Students will not miss their scheduled GRR time for classroom projects, tests/quizzes, or discipline issues unless prior arrangements (preferably 24 hours notice) have been made with the GIS.

Students are responsible for making up tests/quizzes and understanding content missed while attending GRR; however, they are not required to do any missed classwork. (Please speak with your child's teacher about how missed tests/quizzes will be made up and how missed content will be communicated.) Students will not miss recess to do make-up work.

No grades for gifted services are reported to the classroom teacher, and no gifted grades go on the student's report card.

Students in GRR must maintain at least a "C" average in their regular classrooms.
