JOIN THE RELIEF FOR LEHIGH ACRES
WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER!
The purpose of this community resource site is to make needs assessment of the Lehigh Acres community, provide up-to-date information and resources, as well as formulate serve teams including coordination of volunteers during the Aftermath of Hurricane Irma for Lehigh Acres - Relief Stage.
THE FOLLOWING INITIATIVES WERE REQUESTED, BRAINSTORMED AND CREATED OUT OF THE HURRICANE IRMA INITIAL PLANNING MEETING AND IS CONSTANTLY BEING UPDATED WITH NEW INITIATIVES TO AID THE COMMUNITY OF LEHIGH ACRES IN THE AFTERMATH OF HURRICANE IRMA.

[ ] Legal Services to follow up with insurance companies on claims which they are denying or shortchange the insurer and FEMA cannot approve.
[IN-PROCESS] FEMA Assistance Conference Date: TBA
- Get computer assistance to apply for FEMA and SBA grants.
[IN-PROCESS] FEMA Application Assistance Training: Dates TBA
- Get training to assist people with applying for FEMA and Small Business grants as well as provide them with support.
[IN-PROCESS] Create a toy drive for the children of Immokalee/Lehigh Acres
[COMPLETE] Create disaster support groups to assist people with in dealing with depression, emotional distress, tragedies and hope for the future.
- FINDING WELLNESS AFTER IRMA starts Wednesday, October 25th, 2017 at 6:30pm (English/Ingles) and 7:30pm (Spanish/Español) (See Calendar for more details)
[COMPLETE] Food Distribution provided by Harry Chapin Food Bank (on-going, see calendar)
[COMPLETE] Tree removal and debris clean up at BSLC in partnership with LCMS Mercy in Action Disaster Resources and Eglise Baptiste Haitienne
[COMPLETE] Provide assistance for DACA renewals and/or DPS by October 5th, 2017 deadline by Amigos En Cristo
