BEA 7th Grade Math

Course Description

7th grade Pre-Algebra is composed of four strands of mathematics: Numbers/Operations, Algebra, Geometry/Measurement, and Data Analysis/Probability. The course is designed to prepare students for high school as well as lay down a foundation and understanding of how math is used in the real world. Students will be encouraged to be curious about the world around them and ask the "why" questions. Math is more than memorizing formulas. My goal is that after the year comes to a close, students will have a better understanding of why we do the things we do in math and how it all fits together.

Parent Information

  • I highly recommend each student to have their own scientific calculator for this class. The TI-30X IIS is my favorite, but the TI-30XS is the version students will use during their digital MCA testing.
  • As I encourage my students to dive deeper into their education, I also encourage you as parents to work with me to provide a productive learning environment outside of school. Feel free to make use of the many online resources available to you, and don't hesitate to contact me with any questions!
