In my junior year math class, I learned about statistics. This made me want to take the statistics class my Senior year. What was interesting about it was how sensical statistics are. It was easy for me to understand the problems after a bit of help from my dad who is an algebra professor at Kent State University Stark Campus.

In my Model United Nations class, we learned about running United Nations conferences and representing different countries. We learned about the necessary decorum and rules. In my 11th grade English class, I worked on a Multi-Modal Memoir at the beggining of the year. It encapsulated the things that I like, including books and music. In Spanish, we learned a lot about culture, grammar, and vocabulary. We did a project where we made a skit about a member of our in-class family going to the hospital. It gave me an opportunity to practice my Spanish skills in an enjoyable format. Our families in the class were comprised of 4-5 people and we all chose names, roles, ages, and Spanish names. My name was Julia Cruz and I was the 28-year-old mom. The purpose of these families was to give us an opportunity to learn the language with others and to help each other when needed.
This represents the JAGS pillar of recognizing perspectives because I was able to use the Spanish language to create a skit from another person's perspective in a situation.
During my Junior year spring break, I went to Europe. More specifically, France, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. In France, my favorite thing that we saw was the Eiffel tower. In Switzerland, I enjoyed going to Mount Pilatus. In Germany, I liked learning about the history of the Holocaust at the Dachau concentration camp. In Austria, I liked going to a Salt Mine.
This represents the JAGS pillar of investigating the world because it allowed me to explore Europe.
