If your student really loves playing their instrument and embraces the challenge of becoming a better musician by practicing often, he or she would really benefit from private lessons. The lessons we are able to do at school are short and with mixed instruments and levels, which gives us enough time to focus on only the most essential things to becoming a better player. Private lessons are one-on-one, usually 30 minute lessons with a professional who has spent years mastering your student's instrument. Students who take private lessons tend to have an increase in their motivation to practice and a corresponding increase in their enjoyment of music as they improve their abilities.
A great time to consider private lessons is solo and ensemble season! Your student would truly be able to dig into a challenging solo and get the support he/she needs with private lessons.
We are extremely fortunate in Beaver Dam to have the Seippel Center, which offers private music lessons for a variety of instruments.
White House of Music in Watertown offers both in-person and virtual lessons.
There are also several members of the community who give private lessons - if interested, ask Mrs. Battenberg for contacts.
