Jazz Band Information

Jazz Band is made up of 7th and 8th grade students, and plays rock music, swing music, and all types of jazz.  The music is fun, makes you want to dance, and is more of a challenge than regular band music.  If you would like to play a solo, you can do this in Jazz Band!  Students can do both Jazz Band and Jazz Choir by rotating the days they are in each group. 

When is Jazz Band?

Tuesdays and Thursday from 7:00-7:30

(main lobby door by office is open from 6:58-7:00- otherwise buzz to get in)

In cases of a late start, Jazz Band will be canceled. 

How do I join? 

1. Sign up in the band room

2. Come to the Jazz Band Open Rehearsals

A parent signature is not required to come to the open rehearsals.  

3. After the open rehearsals, if you like it, stay in the jazz band!

Expectations of Jazz Band Students

• Students are expected to be responsible and respectful in rehearsals

• While some absences are unavoidable, excessive absences will result in being dropped from the jazz band roster.  

• Dress for the Jazz Band in concerts will be concert black.
