Student Support Specialist
This year marks my 27th year in education, and I am proud to say that 26 of those years have been right here at Southport Elementary. Southport has truly become my home, and I feel so grateful to be a part of this wonderful school community.
I graduated from Columbia College with a degree in Speech-Language Pathology and later earned my B.A. in Elementary Education from UNC-Wilmington. My career began as a speech pathologist in Irmo and Clemson, South Carolina, before moving to North Carolina to follow my passion for teaching. Since then, I’ve had the joy of teaching Pre-K Exceptional Children, kindergarten, and second grade.
Today, I serve as Southport Elementary’s Student Support Specialist. In this role, I have the privilege of working alongside students, families, and teachers to help every child feel supported and successful. Building relationships and watching children grow both academically and personally is the most rewarding part of what I do.
