Ms. McCann & Mr. Salter's Class

My name is Jonna McCann, and I am so excited to welcome you to Leland Middle School! This is my first year at Leland Middle, and I am coming from Fuquay Varina Middle School. I am thrilled to be part of the Leland community and look forward to getting to know each of you.

A little about me: I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and relocated to North Carolina in 2014. I am a wife, a mom of three children who are all seniors in college, a dog lover, a Jeep enthusiast, and a beach lover! I have a Bachelor of Science in Counseling and received my teaching license in Special Education through Campbell University.

I believe that open communication and teamwork are key to helping students succeed. My goal is to work together with students and families to ensure that your child has not only a successful school year, but also a positive and memorable middle school experience.

In my classroom, I believe in providing a structured, consistent, and respectful learning environment. I run a strict and structured classroom because I believe students thrive when they know what is expected of them. At the same time, I love to have fun, laugh, celebrate successes, and find the positives in every day!
