Hello, I am Claire Primrose and I could not be happier to be a member of Tiger Nation!  I am a career changer and in my 6th year teaching. I hold a B.S. degree in Accounting and a MAT degree, both from UNCW.   I am certified and licensed in Middle Grades math, science and AIG.  

I am a Wilmington native and was married to my husband for 42 years before his death in 2020.  We have two wonderful daughters and 4 beautiful grandchildren.  I am so lucky that one daughter and her children live with me in my home, my younger daugter is married to a Coastguardsman and they are stationed in San Antonio, Texas.  

Family is most important to me.  My husband was a PGA member so golf was a big part of our lives.  I love college sports-especially college basketball.   I also enjoy cooking and the beach!

I love being in the classroom with your children.  I love their energy, their excitement about what is happening in their lives and watching them learn and grow academically.  

I love teaching science because it has so many hands-on opportunities.  I believe that hands on experience reinforces content and improves retention.  As much as possible we will incorporate real-world hand-on experiences in class. 

I am also the Science Olympiad coach.  Science Olympiad encompasses all STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) content areas and gives students the opportunity to research topics in depth and prepare for regional and hopefully state competition.
