Hello!  My name is Kristi Smith and I am the Music Teacher at Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School.  This is my 31st year teaching in Brunswick County and my 24th year at Jessie Mae (that means that I am the only music teacher JMMES has ever had!!).  I received my undergraduate degree in Music Education from UNC Wilmington and my master's degree in Instructional Technology from Jones International University.  I have also held my National Board Certification in Elementary Music for 21 years.  I love that at JMMES we are one big happy family and that each day I get to come to work with my husband, Mr. Chris Smith.  We know first hand that Jessie Mae is a great place because all three of our daughters were Jessie Mae students.  I am so glad that you are a part of this family and I can't wait to see you in the music room!!
