I graduated from Buena Vista University in 1993 with a Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences, and from Iowa State University in 2004 with a Masters Degree in History and Comparative Political Studies. I began my teaching career in Iowa before discovering the charm of Southeastern North Carolina.

During my time at SBHS, I have had the pleasure of teaching American History, World History, AP U.S. History, AP Psychology, AP Economics, Civics and Economics, and Economics and Personal Financial Literacy. 

I am married to Jeanette and have two sons Dimitry and Evan, and two stepchildren Dean and Jessie.  In our spare time, we enjoy playing a variety of sports, going to the movies, listening to music, and travel.
