Cheryl Rhodes

I would like to say "Hi!" and welcome you to our ESL Department at Sand Hill-Venable.

I am an Asheville native and have taught in Buncombe County Schools and Lake Washington Public Schools in Washington State since 2008. During this time I have taught students from many countries around the world.  It is most rewarding to share our different cultures and watch students expand their skills as multiple language learners.  

As a National Board Certified teacher in English Language Arts I specialize in teaching students to excel in reading, writing, listening and speaking.  Our students feel part of a schoolwide learning community as they succeed in academic areas and build their social skills.
