Mrs. Liz Miles

Hello! My name is Liz Miles and I will be teaching 5th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies this year. My husband and I have three daughters that go to North Buncombe Schools and we love living our mountain life out in Barnardsville.

I grew up in Conyers, GA, though we always enjoyed escaping the Atlanta traffic to come hike and paddle in Western North Carolina. Then I went to college at Maryville College in Eastern Tennessee and earned a BA in Environmental Studies. After college, I followed in the footsteps of my parents who were both teachers and got a Masters Degree in Teaching from Western Carolina University.

In the last 5 years I have worked as a tutor and a Reading Assistant at North Windy Ridge and have also worked at North Buncombe Middle School teaching Science. I am overjoyed to be able to share my love of books, reading, and history and build our class community!
