Maureen Keller

4th Grade Teacher in the field of education since 2000. Taught grades K-5 in Title 1 schools as a classroom teacher, Reading Interventionist, MTSS Coach, MTSS Coordinator, Title 1 Lead Reading Specialist.

• Moved to Asheville for the first time in 2012 but returned to Florida to care for my parents. I came back in 2022 because I love the mountains, the arts and the food! 

• I enjoy spending time with my family, practice and teach yoga, love the YMCA, hiking.

• I have 3 rescue cats that are my fur babies.

  • My why.... 

I struggled with reading in elementary school. I felt bad about myself because it was so hard for me but not for others. With the help of great teachers and my mother, I learned to read! Dyslexia didn't stop me. I became the best reading teacher I could be so that my students can feel good about themselves. I believe reading is a human right.  What a great way to spend my life, helping others!
