Hello! My name is Ms. Jessica Hamlin, and I am so grateful to be a Kindergarten teacher here at North Buncombe Elementary School. Kindergarten is such an exciting time in a child’s educational journey, and I am honored to be a part of it!
I am a proud graduate of Buncombe County Schools — I like to say I completed K–13 because I attended Buncombe County Early College instead of a traditional high school. After graduating, I continued my education at AB Tech and then Mars Hill University, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University in 2023, and I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Education (EdD) in Organizational Leadership to continue growing as a leader and advocate for students and educators.
I teach because I absolutely love learning — from reading and writing to science, social studies, and all the fun school supplies in between! Most of all, I teach for that magical moment when a student gets it — when the lightbulb switches on and their face lights up with pride. Those moments are what inspire me every single day! 💡✨
In our classroom, we will explore learning through play, hands-on discovery, creativity, and collaboration. We will also use technology in meaningful ways through Google Classroom, Kami, Magic School AI, and other developmentally appropriate tools.
Outside of school, my greatest joy is my family. I am a proud mom of three amazing children who bring endless love and laughter into my life.
Families — communication and teamwork are incredibly important to me. Please always feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas. You can contact me at jessica.hamlin@bcsemail.org. We are partners in your child’s success, and I am here to support you every step of the way!
I am looking forward to an amazing school year filled with growth, curiosity, and kindergarten magic! 🌟
Warmly,
Ms. Hamlin
