I am originally from Florida and graduated from the public school system there. I moved to North Carolina in 1992 where I attended Western Carolina University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Care. After graduation, I worked as a Paramedic in Spartanburg, South Carolina for a total of 10 years. I completed my Master of Health Sciences (in Education) from Western Carolina University and my Doctor of Philosophy (in Higher Education Administration) from the University of Tennessee. Prior to coming to Buncombe County Schools, I taught in the Emergency Medical Care Program at Western Carolina University for a total of 25 years. I am now the Health Science teacher for A.C. Reynolds High School (fall) and C.D. Owen High School (spring). I use Canvas as my LMS.
My hobbies include camping, hiking, reading, and gardening.
I am incredibly excited to be working with students at both awesome schools!
