The purpose of this project is to provide students with the opportunity to pursue interesting and meaningful work using the skills and maturity gained through the high school experience. It consists of four parts.

  1. Research Paper: During his or her junior or senior year, each student will select a topic of personal or professional interest that will be the basis for a research paper. The research must include primary and secondary sources.
  2. Practical Experience OR Product: During his or her senior year, each student will complete a practical experience OR product that relates to the topic. The student is required to document his or her activities, which should amount to at least ten hours of work. With permission, juniors may begin their practical experience during the summer between junior and senior year.
  3. Portfolio: The student will compile a portfolio containing documentation of work on the Graduation Project.
  4. Presentation: Seniors will present to a panel of 3-4 faculty and community volunteers for 5-10 minutes about their project.
