Hello Hawk Families!
My name is Annelise Culy, and I am thrilled to be joining the First Grade Team this year at Haw Creek Elementary. I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Colorado. I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development for Elementary Education. Over the last six years, I have taught Fifth Grade, Fourth Grade, and Kindergarten in Colorado. A passion of mine is bringing innovation into the classroom and reflecting on how to engage students in every lesson they learn. Teaching is an absolute gift. Seeing students light up when they learn something new is one of the biggest reasons I teach, it is pure magic! I love having the opportunity to see all children grow and flourish with their unique talents as they grow as a leader and learner.
Outside of school, you can find me hiking in the mountains, getting lost in great books, paddle boarding, skiing, or eating my way through Asheville. I have a black lab retriever named Pike who is my forever hiking buddy. My husband and I love exploring in the mountains, chasing waterfalls, and camping with Pike.
I am honored to have the privilege of collaborating with our incredible team at Haw Creek Elementary. My goal is to support all learners by empowering them to take leadership in their learning.
Welcome to our Fantastic First Grade Classroom, we are so glad you are here! 💚💛
