Andrea Sellers

I am the literacy specialist at Hominy Valley and have been an educator since 1991.   My first years in education were in grades 3, 4 and 5 as a classroom teacher and I now get to teach literacy through small groups within our Jet Time at HVE.  

I grew up in Black Mountain and am a graduate of Owen High School.  I attended Appalachian State University and graduated in 1991 and received my Master's of Education from University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2001.  I earned my  National Board Certification in literacy in 2008. 

Teaching literacy and working with children is my passion ; it is my sincere desire that all children grow as readers and writers and find a love for reading.
