Resources and Tutorials

There are two main sources for leveled readers. Teacher Created Materials (the red boxes from your classrooms have been digitized) and the Benchmark Advance Curriculum.

Finding and Assigning Leveled Readers from Teacher Created Materials (the Big Red Boxes)

  • Find a book by clicking on: Bcsd.com -> Educational Services -> Curriculum and Instruction -> English Langauge Arts -> Guided Reading resources -> Leveled Guided Reading Books

  • Click on the Fountas and Pinnell level book you want to use, it will take you to a Google Drive folder.

  • Use that pdf to share in your google classroom. Watch the video for a guided walkthrough of obtaining and posting these items.

Finding and assigning leveled readers from the Benchmark Universe curriculum

  • Login to Benchmark Universe using clever or via the login.bcsd.com page.

  • Click on Benchmark Advance

  • Scroll down to the Fountas and Pinnell sorting filter in the left hand column.

  • Click a letter, or multiple letters to filter the center column's content.

  • Once you find a book you want to assign: click on the gear.

  • Click on Create Link for Direct Access

  • Copy the link for use in Google Classroom, Google Sites, or other locations.

  • Watch the video to see how to assign it to select students in Google Classroom.
