Botetourt County Public Schools has partnered with the Cook Center for Human Connection to bring parents a trusted resource for mental health support: ParentGuidance.org. This free resource provides access to licensed therapists offering practical courses on topics like supporting a child with depression, recognizing anxiety, and navigating grief and loss. Parents can find real answers, real help, and real support to better understand and care for their children’s mental health needs.

The site is divided into the following three sections:

Sign in to ParentGuidance.org, then click on “parent coaching” to sign up for a trained parenting coach then select “Register for Coaching.”

Coaching is just what it sounds like; one-on-one help with a trained coach, helping you face issues with yourself or your family. Coaching is free and confidential.

2.     On-Demand Courses

From the ParentGuidance.org website, click on “On-Demand Courses” for a selection of over 50 free courses.

3.     Ask a Therapist

In ParentGuidance.org, click on “Ask a Therapist” to review therapist responses to Frequently Asked Questions submitted by parents, or submit a question of your own.
