Fiona doesn't remember going to sleep. But when she opens her eyes, she discovers her entire world has been altered-her house is abandoned and broken, and the entire neighborhood is barren and dead. Key people needed to rebuild society are protected from disease and beasts inside a fortress-like wall. But Fiona has awakened branded, alone-and on the wrong side of the wall . . .

Lexile® scale ranges from, below 200L for beginning-reader materials to above 1600L for advanced materials.

Interest Level

The interest level relates to the content and age appropriateness of a book. AR BookFinder uses these interest levels:

LG (Lower Grades, K–3)
MG (Middle Grades, 4–8)
MG+ (Middle Grades Plus, 6 and up)
UG (Upper Grades, 9–12)
