Raymond's favorite thing about CSOM: "The ability to hear about professors' experiences and pop-up cookies."

Advice for underclassmen in CSOM: "Don't be afraid to reach out to people in the BC network (professors, students, alumni) as they could've gone through similar experiences and can provide advice with navigating university life, reaching career goals, as well as drawing your attention to resources/opportunities you weren't aware of before."

Isa

At the Carroll School of Management, Isa (she/her) is majoring in Business Analytics and Marketing with a minor in Managing for Social Impact & the Public Good. This past summer, she worked full-time at Ernst & Young, Strategy & Transactions with the Business Analytics Team. In her free time, Isa learned to play piano, crocheted some summer pieces, and became a master at latte art. This year at BC, she is excited to take some of the more creative electives relevant to her major, especially Sports Analytics and Digital Marketing.

Isa's favorite thing about CSOM: "I appreciate the setup of CSOM's course requirements.  The core classes provide a great opportunity for students to really discover what areas of the business realm they are most interested in, while still having enough time in their college career to specialize in a chosen concentration. I originally came to BC as an Accounting major, but I never would have discovered how much I enjoy Business Analytics (or the fact that Accounting is not for me) without taking required CSOM core classes my freshman and sophomore years."

Isa's advice for underclassmen in CSOM: "In an interview, your interviewer is always going to start with the classic "How are you" on the walk from the lobby to the interview room.  Instead of responding, "Good, how are you?," ANSWER HONESTLY. Say something specific and lighthearted to differentiate yourself from other candidates.  Example: "Oh, I actually just came back from a beach trip this weekend, so I feel very well rested and excited for the week ahead."

Here’s a fun fact about Isa: Lemons are my favorite fruit. I eat them like oranges :)

It really helps to start meeting with your advisors early in your time at BC--even if you have no idea what you want to do. Everyone is here to support you, you just have to take the initiative to build a relationship, it goes a long way. "

Seeah's advice for underclassmen in CSOM: "I wish I knew the importance of any type of work experience, whether they are part-time jobs serving at a restaurant, unpaid internships during summer, or simply volunteer services. One learns so much simply by interacting and building relationships with people who come from different backgrounds and hold different thoughts and values than you. These experiences are not something that one can learn from class and are truly valuable."
