Bloomsbury Summer Enrichment

Welcome to Summer!

All students in the Bloomsbury School District are encouraged to "feed their brains" during the summer break. In addition to recommended activities, students entering grades 2-8 also have a required assignment that is due Friday, September 8th.

Why summer enrichment?

During the school year, daily classwork provides plenty of mental exercise. Then come the sweet, lazy days of summer! As wonderful as summer vacation is, “summer slump” has a terrible habit of slowing, even halting student progress, making the return to school in September difficult. Simple activities, like independent reading and basic math fact practice, can help students maintain the great progress they have made during the school year.

Required Assignments

Summer reading and the accompanying assignment are required for students entering grades 2 through 8. Students may complete the reading and assignment at any point during the summer break. The summer reading assignment is due to school by Friday, September 8th. Students will present their projects to the class during the first few weeks of school.
