EXPERIENCE

A Memorial Fund at BBBSChi

Site Based Group Applications

The Akesh Experience Fund should support unique experiences that enhance programming and match relationships. Program Coordinators can request funding ranging from $500 - $1000 per program per fiscal year. Requests over $1000 may also be considered, but will be limited. Some examples/ideas:

· Art Experience—partner with Art studio/artist to lead an arts activity; mail out art kits for the activity home to Littles

· Comedy/Improv/Storytelling Experience- partner with Laughter for Kidz or Second City to lead activities

· Cooking classes- Partner with Kids’ Table/Chopping Block for virtual cooking classes- supplies would be delivered to homes

· STEAM experience- robotics, science experiments-- activity sent to home

· Music Experience- Song writing workshop, dance, music lesson, concert, etc.

· Field trips (once in person is allowed)- Sporting events, museums, theater

**Note many of these examples/ideas are reflective of current virtual programming and can be modified once in-person programming resumes.

Applications will be accepted on an on-going basis. Program Coordinators will be notified of the acceptance of their request within 2 weeks of receiving their completed application submission (please note if you have a specific deadline for your activity/project).

BBBSMC cannot fund all requests, but each application will be thoughtfully considered. Program Coordinators should note that early applications are encouraged and will be given priority. Programs that are awarded will be asked to submit photos or videos and quotes/feedback that can be provided as part of a thank you to the family.

Please submit your request with at minimum 3 weeks notice from the date of your event. Once approved, you will receive communication from Everardo Franco, COO.
