Kinder Class

Welcome to Kindergarten at River Homelink!

Hello Families! Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me.

I was born in Saigon, Vietnam and moved to the United States when I was six-months-old. We lived near Seattle until I was six and then moved to Vancouver, Washington. I attended school at Image Elementary, Cascade Junior High, and Evergreen High School and earned my BA and Master's in Education from WSU -Go Cougs!

My family consists of my incredibly hardworking husband, three amazing children, Hanna, Miranda, and Joshua, three very cuddly cats, Mimi, Mei Mei, and Munchkin, and one little sassy Westie named Yuki. When I am not teaching, I love to travel, dabble in photography, learn about other cultures, spend time gardening, watch movies, and bake yummy treats for my friends and family.

I have been teaching kindergarten for fifteen years and I am always amazed at how much five-year-olds can grow in just one school year. I am truly blessed to be able to teach this amazing age group in an environment where I can partner with parents and families. My background in kindergarten consist of teaching in half day, full day, and in a Spanish immersion program. Prior to teaching at RHL, I taught for eleven years at Cornerstone Christian Academy and served as lead teacher for the K program and as a mentor for primary aged girls. I was also blessed to lead a Girl Scout troop of forty students for eight years and make some wonderful connections with families that are dear to my heart.

I feel that in order to partner effectively, communication is the key! Building relationships is what makes partnering with parents so successful here at RHL and it is the fabric of what we are made of. No question or concern is too small and I am always here to assist you in any way I can. Please feel free to email me at: to make an appointment. I have times available before and after school and time built into my schedule to meet with families during 4th block Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Your child's teacher,

Mrs. Roderick
