Mrs. Vaught's 6th Grade

Math & Science

Welcome Note

Welcome! In my classroom I believe that all students are capable learners. I understand that each one brings a unique background that we can all benefit from learning more about. Each student is expected to be respectful, responsible, and safe. I strive to use love and logic type discipline to help learners understand how they are making choices and our choices have consequences both positive and negative. We work to be problem solvers and thinkers at all times.

Education and Background

I graduated in 1996 and received my credentialing in 1997 from Concordia University Irvine, CA. Followed by Professional Certification in Washington. I have continued learning in my professional community and have earned over 1300 additional clock hours.

I have been teaching for 19 years. I taught 6th grade math and science for 5 years in San Gabriel, CA. I then taught 1st grade for 6 months, followed by 5 years of teaching in 3rd grade at Yacolt Primary. I then taught 1st grade for 4 years at TVP. This is my fifth year back to my roots in 6th math and science. I am happy and excited I get to teach the two subjects I enjoy the most.
