1. Brief description and aims of module:
Building upon the practical and theoretical skills learnt in semester one, you will develop and define your practical production skills and techniques. You undertake a series of practical projects related to each specialism. You will demonstrate practical design, making and organisational skills within scenic design, costume and stagecraft subjects. Development of production skills helps you to prepare for production practice at level 5.
The module aims to:
Foster practical production practice skills
Promote professional production practice
Develop collaborative, practical, critical and organisational skills
2.Outline syllabus:
During this module you will study three production disciplines to develop your practical knowledge, understanding and practice further.
You will continue to study production disciplines in scenic design, costume and scenography, drawing on the areas you have explored in semester one.
You engage in practical research projects demonstrating a range of skills and disciplines. All projects are subject to approval by your tutor. Some projects are collaborative and others are independent.
3.Teaching and learning activities
The challenges of each project are as unique as the project. The learning environment mirrors industry best practice and working to deadlines is essential.
Tutors provide subject specific lecture support throughout all projects and additional support available through tutorials and project planning meetings.
