1. Brief description and aims of module:
This module will develop drawing and colour, as a means of research and communication, by exploring a range of materials, techniques and skills (including digital media), to enhance your visual vocabulary and encourage an individual and personal approach to your work
Initially, it aims to establish drawing and colour as a method to interrogate visual observations, analysing qualities such as proportion, line, mark, form, texture, scale, intensity, mood and pattern. The module enables you to develop your skills and confidence in creating an individual approach to mark making, colour, image and pattern creation.
The use of digital design and technology is considered a key aspect for the context of this module. You will develop your creative computer aided design skills through the use of Adobe Creative programmes, culminating in designs that have practical outcomes.
You will be instructed and encouraged to explore a variety of traditional, experimental and digital drawing methods, colour and pattern techniques, tools, media and surfaces.
2.Outline syllabus:
Students will develop skills in observation and recording, using a wide range of drawing, colour and pattern-making approaches and processes and be introduced to drawing, colour, pattern and creating images digitally in Adobe Creative programmes.
