1. Brief description and aims of module:
This module centres on the creation and performance of original commercial material.
Having learned the skills to develop musical ideas into live arrangements in semester 1, you will define and develop your onstage act, polish the playing and performance and look at the important details such as appearance, band image and crowd communications.
This module aims to:
Further develop your ability to perform live.
Encourage you to begin to examine their appeal to particular fan demographics
Coach you towards a professional level as a performer.
2.Outline syllabus
Having completed Performance (Collaborative), you will continue to develop new material with a greater focus on developing your stage show. While extending your knowledge of musical arrangement for a live setting, the module will examine details of performance such as professionalism, appearance, set pacing and communication.
3.Teaching and learning activities
Weekly rehearsal room-based performance sessions plus lectures and group playback sessions.
These sessions are not intended as a time for writing songs. New material is to be created during the week between these sessions.
