1. Brief description and aims of module:
This 4-week module is the culmination of your work this year and asks you to consider how to draw on your learning to date when performing. This module aims to:
Explore the interaction between preparation and spontaneity in performance
Provide a performance opportunity to test your application of techniques to performance
Engender an analytical approach to the performance of text and non-text based work
2.Outline syllabus
This module provides a performance opportunity that allows you to draw together your learning to date. It asks you to combine preparation, process, analysis and technique in a cohesive and spontaneous manner.
3.Teaching and learning activities
In all your First year modules, you will be taught across a series of discipline classes that underpin your development as an actor. These classes include (but are not exclusive to) Acting, Context, Improvisation, Movement, Singing, Voice, etc.
For this module you will engage with practical classes and focus on your self-reflective practice, both in terms of responding to rehearsal notes and developing your critical thinking skills. You will also present work in performance scenario that draws on both your acting process and your application of practical skills.
