1. Brief description and aims of module:
This 4-week module continues the work established in module ACT4023 through its exploration of more complex dramatic text and increased focus on personal reflective practice to inform and guide you development of physical techniques to support the acting process. The module aims to:Â
Test your acting process with the introduction of complex character-driven period text.
Engender a reflective approach to the development and physical embodiment of a range of techniques
Develop the application of a range of techniques and knowledge through the devising of a comedic performance.
2.Outline syllabus
This module challenges your acting process by asking you to explore a complex character in a period text. Alongside this, the continued development of physical techniques continues to encourage reflective practice and deeper analysis. Improvisatory work also explores character through the devising of a short comedic piece. The exploration of reflective practice, research approaches and critical thinking will continue to develop.
3.Teaching and learning activities
In all your level 4 modules, you will be taught across a series of discipline classes that underpin your development as an actor. These classes include (but are not exclusive to) Acting, Context, Improvisation, Movement, Singing, Voice, etc.
For this module you will engage with practical classes and then consider the impact of your learning through tutorials and reflective study.
