Tip # 2 - November

It's not too cold yet; fall is a great time to play outside with your child. Take a Silly Walk with your child. Take two large steps and three tiny steps counting as you go 1,2 - 1,2,3. Not only are you getting some wonderful exercise, your child is beginning to connect a specific object or action with a number - to begin to understand one to one correspondence. One to one correspondence is not only necessary for mathematics, but also for reading.
