Reading takes us to places where we may otherwise never go; reading creates bonds and builds understanding; and, reading relieves stress and provides a moment of tranquility. Reading also builds brain power; it increases vocabulary, develops focus and memory, and strengthens analytical and critical thinking skills. Through connecting children and families with books we help develop a love for reading while encouraging families to make reading a part of everyday life.

Bellefonte Area School District is proud to be able to share books with our community. We're excited to play just a little part in spreading the joy of reading. On this site you will find not only links that take you to math and literacy resources, but also activities and ideas you can share with your child. Preschool Options

A variety of pre-school options are available in and around Bellefonte. Bellefonte Area High School hosts its own pre-school which provides opportunities for high school students to interact with preschoolers as part of child development classes. Please contact the BAHS main office if you are interested in learning more about the Raider Preschool.
