AbleLight College at Concordia University is a two or three-year post-secondary college program at Concordia University that provides students with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to turn their dreams of a college experience and education into reality!  We help prepare students for independent and adult living by providing them a full range of college and life experiences.  Students receive a blended model of instruction centered on their intellectual, vocational, social, personal and spiritual growth. Students take both AbleLight College Courses and Concordia University Courses with support and modifications/accommodations.  Students live in the dorms with support from Concordia University students too!  Our goal is to prepare students to take their place in the larger community as independent adults, as employed citizens living an integrated, purposeful life while contributing to their community.  To accomplish this we developed a sequence and schedule of formal and informal instruction in four key areas: academics, career preparation, adult living skills, and campus and community life.  Watch Video.

Aging & Disability Resource Center of Racine County (ADRC) provides older adults and adults with physical or intellectual/developmental disabilities the resources needed to live with dignity and security, and achieve maximum independence and quality of life. The goal of the ADRC is to empower individuals to make informed choices and to streamline access to the right and appropriate services and supports.

ADRCs provide a central source of reliable and objective information about a broad range of programs and services. They help people understand and evaluate the various options available to them. By enabling people to find resources in their communities and make informed decisions about long-term care, ADRCs help people conserve their personal resources, maintain self-sufficiency and delay or prevent the need for potentially expensive long-term care. ADRCs also serve as the single access point for publicly funded long-term care.

TMG
As Wisconsin’s first IRIS Consultant Agency, TMG partners with thousands of adults with disabilities and older adults statewide, empowering them to enjoy meaningful lives in their communities.
Since 2008, TMG has built a network of over 700 experts that support people enrolled in the IRIS program in all 72 Wisconsin counties. Our team has a network of community resources that can benefit people enrolled in IRIS. We work with these resources to partner with people to create customized plans and put them into action. These plans help people achieve their goals related to employment, housing, health, safety, community, transportation and long-term relationships. So together, we make roadblocks and obstacles start to disappear to clear the path ahead between people and their goals.
IRIS participants and their families self-direct by choosing supports and services for their IRIS plan that work best for them. TMG partners with people for as long as they’re in the program. Therefore, TMG uses frequent communication, research, in-home visits, conversations and plan updates to strengthen our partnerships with people. TMG’s knowledgeable, compassionate consultants become key allies in achieving long term care goals and are happy to help the people we partner with live the life they choose.

Vision Forward logo
Vision Forward offers a continuum of services, from birth through adulthood, for people with vision loss, helping them to achieve developmental milestones, as well as educational, personal and professional goals.  For our youngest babies and toddlers we provide specialized vision services to help parents and their children at a critical time in development, best understand the child’s vision loss and how to support their progress through education, speech, occupational and physical therapies.  Our early education program prepares preschool children for their transition to school using their remaining vision and other senses to master early education concepts.  School age children can participate in a wide range of social engagement opportunities focused on connecting with peers, building resiliency and developing skills.  Older teens and adults work with our specialized rehabilitation team on skills such as safe travel, technology, and skills of daily living such as cooking and other household tasks.  Our Social Worker helps build connections and meet the needs of families through all of these stages of development, and our Store has hundreds of product solutions available on-site and online for families at any time.

Willow Creek Ranch logo
Established in 2007, Willow Creek Ranch teaches horsemanship skills to children and adults with special needs. We serve a variety of physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs, such as ADHD and sensory processing, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury, visual or hearing impairments.  Benefits include improved self-confidence, patience, communication skills, balance and muscle tone.
For more information about registering for lessons, please contact us by Email or phone (262) 806-4080
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for children and adults with special needs by giving them the “ability” to enhance their physical, emotional and cognitive development through the use of equine-assisted activities and therapies.
Willow Creek Ranch offers private and group horseback riding lessons, horsemanship (riding and/or groundwork), vocational skills, and other opportunities to learn about horses and ranch work.
Horsemanship:  Participants will learn horseback riding skills that may include more than just riding. Learning about horses and their care is also a part of horsemanship. As appropriate for a participant, they may also learn about grooming/tools, horse behavior, tacking (“dressing” the horse for riding), or leading a horse. This is in addition to learning to ride, stop & start, turn, balance – all while strengthening body muscles, gaining self-confidence and having fun.
Learning:  This program is ground based, no riding. A participant interacts with the horse to develop confidence, stretch and strengthen muscles (grooming), learn horse behavior and safety, become self aware and learn how demeanor can affect the horse (and other people). For school-aged participants, this program can be a part of their Individual Education Plan (IEP) to strengthen and reinforce learning objectives.
Participants (not just for people with “special needs”) are those who may need a quiet, calm place to unwind or learn coping skills. WCR provides a nature-based experience to support learning, emotional and spiritual growth. This program is for individuals or groups/retreats.
Therapy:   This is a more in-depth program for participants who may suffer with issues such as trauma, depression, substance abuse or relationship problems. The participant works with a mental health professional, an equine specialist, and a horse or horses to discover healing opportunities.

Wisconsin Independent Learning College (WILC) is a training program designed specifically for autistic young adults, ages 18 - 30. WILC can serve as part of an 18-21 transition program or as a post-secondary program for those that have completed high school. With a focus on Daily Living and Prevocational Skills, we provide the support needed for each individual to reach their goals for independence through teaching and practice of cooking and nutrition, home care, recreational therapy, interoception, social thinking, and problem solving, community engagement, and volunteerism. WILC is an approved IRIS vendor, and is a DVR service provider for our students interested in joining the workforce. While we do not provide the typical college experience, WILC can answer the question of what comes next after high school.
