My name is Mr. Beau F. Brummett and the students call me Mr. B. I have been teaching at Apalachee High School starting my 4th year. I have a Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching from Columbus State University and a History degree from the University of West Georgia. I am currently the PBIS coach for AHS which I co-chair with two other professionals who love AHS as much I do. I love hiking, camping, music (both listening and song writing), art (pop-art, mostly), off beat movies and documentaries, as well as spending time with family and friends. I have a 17 year old nephew who likes to visit and travel with Uncle Beau. He and I went to Pittsburgh this past December to visit with life long friends. My brother and my sister-in-law love the break. I have two cats, Oakley and Roots, who are sisters, whom I adopted in February of 2015.
My parents are both retired educators. They were not the reason I wanted to become a teacher. I came to it by accident and fell in love with the work. I love my students and my co-workers and will take time to make sure each have what they need to complete their work to the best of their ability. I am a champion of education and want to spread my love for learning for both academics and life lessons. My teaching philosophy is: every student can learn, but in different ways. I hope that I live this in my classroom.
I will be posting information here for my classes.
