Initially, the Equal Pay Act of 1963 didn’t help women in the workforce. ”According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, women’s median annual earnings remained about three-fifths that of men throughout the 1960’s” (“Equal Pay Act of 1963”). When the Equal Pay Act was reinforced, it still did not do much due to the fact women still made 59-60 cents for every 1 dollar a man made, making it still unjust for women while they worked the same exact jobs as the men. Women had done the same jobs, dangerous jobs too, and still earned less than her male co-worker doing the same task
