This is an online database for middle schoolers to help students conduct research. It has reference content, magazine and newspaper articles covering current events, multimedia resources, and research tools. It is produced by Cengage and is a reputable source for information.
It is an online digital reading platform that offers over 40,000 books for elementary and middle school students. It includes formats such as ebooks, audiobooks, and videos. It has reading level filters, pictures books, and non-fiction books. The company is Epic Creations, Inc., and it partners with well-known publishers like HarperCollins, Scholastic, and National Geographic Kids.
Bandera Kronkosky Public Library
This is the local public library for Bandera, TX. They are a great supplemental resource to our school library and are just down the street in a Designated Historic Landmark building. They have monthly programs, a great selection of books, and free public computer usage. The library uses the Libby App for audio and ebooks.
Khan Academy is a free, online learning platform that offers lessons, practice exercises, and instructional videos in many different subject areas. The videos and lessons provide a great resource for extra explanation of a topic. They are self-paced and high-quality. Khan Academy is a nonprofit educational organization founded in 2008 by Sal Khan.
This is a free and helpful tool that helps students and researchers create properly formatted citations for their sources. It can generate based off of multiple citation styles. Users can paste a URL, book title, DOI, ISBN, or manually enter details and the tool will automatically generate a reference citation and an in-text citation. This tool was created by Daniel Elias, a librarian, former teacher, and citation expert.

This is a collection of free ebooks that has over 70,000 titles available. The collection is mostly classical pieces of literature that are no longer under copyright. The site requires no account and is as simple as a download. Project Gutenberg was founded in 1971 by Michael S. Hart and is the world’s oldest digital library.
