mrs Butcher's third grade

Welcome!

My name is Julie Butcher and I am a third grade teacher at Ballard East Elementary. I graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in reading and language arts. I am married and have two kids who also graduated from Iowa State University. 

Before coming to Ballard Schools, I taught second grade through fifth grade in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Naples, Florida and in Loudoun County Virginia which is outside of Washington DC. I was also a pre-school director in Georgia when my two kids were small. 

Third grade is my favorite grade to teach! I am excited to teach each of my students to become a good classroom citizen, to have a love for reading and writing and to be a strong mathematical problem solver. Third grade will be an amazing year filled with new and exciting learning.
