“Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens is a really good novel, that I will recommend to readers above 13+ because of its “coming-of-age” content. Kya, known as the “Marsh girl” has been living in the marsh for her whole life. She was left alone living in the shack by the rest of her family and had to learn how to survive on her own. She grew up not knowing about anything outside of the marsh, but throughout the story, her life progresses and murder takes place. This book was unexpectedly good. The start of the plot was slow-paced and boring, but as the story continued, the plot left me hooked and I couldn’t stop reading. I would also recommend this book to readers to enjoy the genres of mystery, romance, and drama.  (Ellery. Grade 8)
