“The Unleashed” by Danielle Vega is the sequel to the horror and thriller novel “The Haunted”. This book follows the main protagonist in the first book, Hendricks. After the traumatizing event at the Steele House, she and her friends Portia and Connor try to heal and move on while their friend Raven is still in a coma. Everything is going well until she tries to summon her dead boyfriend along with 7 other people. Strange things start to happen to Hendricks again as she realizes what she conjured up, was not who she intended it to be. What will happen to her? Who did she summon? I really enjoyed this book and felt like it was a great continuation of “The Haunted” It expanded the universe as well as added new memorable characters. I recommend this book to grades 6 and above because it has some vulgar language but the story itself is not that inappropriate. (Amerie. Grade 8)
