The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu is a book about how a popular girl’s reputation was destroyed after an incident. This book is about a popular girl called Alice who was blamed for the death of Brandon Fitzsimmons, the most popular jock in school, who died in a car accident. Before she moved to a small town, she was one of the shy and unpopular kids in her school. But when she was given the opportunity to become popular, she accepted it and when all of the towns blamed her for the car accident, she turned into who she was before and more. In this book, there are many points of view of various characters so the readers could understand how the story is going. I personally thought that this book was quite depressing but it was unique and wasn’t like any other books I’ve read. I recommend this book to people who like to know the lives of high school students and the genre of young adult fiction. (Ahyun. Grade 8)

“The Truth About Alice” by Jennifer Mathieu was a book that fits in the genre of young adult fiction. In this story, the life of Alice, a popular good looking highschool girl, turns around when she gets blamed for the death of her school's most popular jock, Brandon Fitzsimmons, who dies in a car accident. All of Healrly (the small town Alice lives in) blames her and as a result, she turns into a totally different person. This was a pretty good book. It taught me more about the life of a high school student and the effect rumors and lies can have on people's mental and physical health. I would recommend it for ages 11 and up because younger ages might not understand some of the content or language. (Nina. Grade 8)
