‘The Last Shot’ by Darcy Frey is a story about a high school kid that dreams to be a basketball player. The genre of this story best fits realistic fiction due to this story could actually happen in real life. This book does not only show basketball, but it also indicates how the central character’s non-basketball-related life. This shows he had been in a bad environment, which made him start basketball. I rated this book 3 out of 5 because the theme of the book was good and interesting, but the story went slow and it was not that interesting to me.  (Youngmin. Grade 7)

This book is called the last shot written by Darcy Frey. I think this book is very interesting because it has action it tells us about his life. it also tells us about his basketball dream. it showed me a lot about how he was in poverty and in his school there were some people that had bad things they would talk about. there are some parts that are funny how it says how the new principal comes down the hallway to soak in some glory. one of the nice things is how in the end he got a scholarship and he got a degree bachelors. but then he was put in jail. then he continued playing basket ball after getting released.  (Kiran.
