"The Land of Stories, The Wishing Spell, is part of a 6 book fantasy series written by a popular novelist for younger people, Chris Colfer. It follows the adventures of 12-year-old twins, Alex and Connor who are struggling to find a place to get away from their daily life after a tragic family incident in which they lose their dad. Little do they know, a way into the magical fairy tale stories they valued so much in their childhood exists just a page away. This book would be best suited for young readers of ages 7 and up. The vocabulary is simple but well-used and easy to follow, making it a great book for people looking to read an interesting book without much challenge. For a younger person's book, it is on the longer side, 438 pages long. In terms of themes, it is simply a spinoff of most older fairy tales, making it pretty pg. There are deaths and people in distress though. This book is loved by many readers on account of its unique and distinctive approach to re-telling and re-sculpting all of the classic fairytales, such as Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and The Three Bears. It bears all of the hallmarks of a book to be loved by current and future generations. In short, a classic.  (Anna. Grade 7)
