“The Haunted” by Danielle Rollins is a horror and thriller book that I enjoyed reading. The book follows a high-school student named Hendricks who recently moved to the Steele House due to an unfortunate event that happened in her past school. The Steele House is supposedly haunted, but Hendricks doesn't buy it. When she hears blood-curdling screams, sees dark shadowed figures, and wakes up with scratches and bruises, she is forced to see the truth. With the help of her mysterious neighbor and classmate, they work together to try to dispel the ghosts before it's too late for her and her family. This book was a very fun read, it was thrilling and realistic (other than the ghosts). The author was very good at conjuring mental images of what happened in the book, and that made reading it much more engaging and interesting. This book fits the genre(s) of thriller and horror, and I recommend it to grades 6 and above. (Amerie. Grade 8)

“The Haunted” by Danielle Vega. This book follows the life of Hendriks, a high school student. Hendriks life takes a turn when her parents decide to move states looking for a fresh start after Hendrik's traumatic experience with her ex. Once she gets to her new school, everyone seems to know a secret about her new house. As Hendriks will later discover, years ago several murders took place in the house she just moved into. Abnormal things start happening and Hendrik's life gets put at risk. What is really going on in her house? Who is to blame for what is happening to her? Will she make it out alive? This book was packed with thriller and horror. It was really hard to put down but also scary to read at the same time. This book fits into the genres of horror, thriller, paranormal, and violence. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a horror story that keeps you on your toes from the first to the last page. I believe that this novel is targeted towards ages 12 and up because some content might be too scary and violent for younger ages.  (Nina. Grade 8)

The Haunted by Danielle Vega is a book about a high-school girl called Hendrick. In Philadephia, she dated a boy called Grayson and had some trauma that involved him. Then, she and her family moved to a small town in New York. Her new house is strange and she is a new student at her school. Since it is a small town, everyone knows everyone and everything that is going on. She fits into her school and makes new friends. But something about her new house is weird, unnatural, and strange. Her friends tell her that a murder had taken place in the Steele House and Hendrick does not feel too good about it. Then, she hears something. What did she hear? Is the house safe? What is wrong with this house? I recommend this book to those who are interested in the paranormal and a bit of romance and who are interested in what happens in the story, it also includes violence. The book does include some parts which are not suitable for younger children.  (Ahyun. Grade 8)
