“Rose Under Fire” by Elizabeth Wein was a novel that had story about Rose Justice, a female fighter pilot for the Soviet air force. During her time as a pilot, Rose moved the soviet planes from place to place, but she lost her way once and was caught. The Nazis brought her to Ravensbrück for 6 months straight. Overall tells the story of Rose surviving in camp with an unforgettable group of women as well as the horrific circumstances she had to face along the way. A reader who enjoys reading about World War II and Soviet air forces will enjoy this book as well as the genre of history and adventure. It had a surprising plot, as well as an interesting plot. In spite of it being an interesting novel, I think it will be best suited for people over the age of 12 as it will not be appropriate for younger readers and is mostly recommended. (Ellery. Grade 8)
