“Right as Rain” by Lindsey Stoddard was a really interesting book. This novel tells the story of Rain, a little girl who leaves her old life behind together with her family in search of a fresh start after her brother's death. The book describes the struggles the family goes through to overcome the death of their loved one and the impact this traumatic event had on everybody's daily lives. Despite the dark plot of this book, it ends happily in a sweet and inspirational way. This novel fits in the genres of friendship and realistic fiction. Overall, this was a good book that was fast and easy to read. I would recommend it to ages 10 and up because younger ages might find the story a bit sad or too long to read. (Nina. Grade 8)
