Red Queen, written by Victoria Aveyard is a dystopian novel which is one of the best books I have ever read. Mare Barrows world is divided by the color of blood. The Silvers rule and have special powers such as being able to control water. They're rich, dripping with wealth, and having the Reds serving at their feet. Mare lives in a poor red village passing by as a master thief until a displacement in her fate lands her in the Silvers castle betrothed to the prince. Though peace is far from near in her life. Violence and war is just around the corner and a group of rebels fight against injustices and slavery. Mare is faced with betrayal, unanswered questions, and the heaviness of the death of her beloved ones. This book is one of the best I have ever read and I would rate it 5/5. It included many plot twists and never even got close to being boring. It was a little long and the word vocabulary I would rate 2/5 because there were some difficult words but in total, it included many surprises and was amazingly written! (Enya, Grade 6
