“Four Dead Queens” by Astrid Scholte is a dystopian murder mystery book with elements of fantasy. In this book, there are four quadrants, our main character, Keralie, is from Archia. The living conditions aren't very good, with Archia being kind of like the slums. Keralie works for her childhood best friend Mackiel, who owns an auction house and asks Keralie to steal for the auctions. One day, Keralie steals a very important device from Varin, a man from a different quadrant. That night, when Varin attempts to get it back things go terribly wrong, and Keralie and Varin are forced to solve a murder plot against the four queens. Will they be successful? I really enjoyed this book, it was fast-paced from the start, which I liked. No part of the book was boring or drawn out and throughout the book, it was very fun to guess who I thought the murderer was. I recommend this book to ages 12 and above.  (Amerie. Grade 8)

“Four Dead Queens” by Astrid Scholte was a book filled with mystery and thrill. When the four queens of Quadra start getting murdered, Keralie and Varin, two strangers who will eventually end up becoming good friends, take matters into their own hands and try to find the assassin who is responsible for the queens’ deaths. This novel is packed with many unexpected twists that lead to betrayal and misjudgment, I would recommend this story to readers who enjoy the genres of mystery, thriller, crime, and just a bit of romance. I felt it was mostly targeted to ages eleven and up because of its length and content.  (Nina. Grade 8)
