Artemis Fowl, by Eoin Colfer, is a fantastical 277-page book about a 12-year-old criminal genius and his master plan to expose the secret population of fairies that have lived separate from humanity for thousands of years. As much of a genius as Artemis is, he has no idea how far fairies will go to protect their secret and he has no concept of the full extent of their magical and mechanical capabilities. This book is best suited for children of 7 and up, on account of some scenes of violence that may frighten readers of a younger level. It has a very easy vocabulary and an interesting, easy-to-follow plot that is perfect for young readers. I think this book is interesting for the most part, but it does contain some long pieces of dialogue that I found hard to follow and irrelevant to the storyline. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy and crime novels. (Anna. Grade 7)

I think this book was very interesting and had lots of different twists and turns in it. I think this book was very good, and I think its genre would best fit into a fantasy-type story. I would also say that this book had a good variety of vocabulary words that were a bit challenging. The story in the book was about a twelve-year-old mastermind and criminal named Artemis Foul. In the book, what happens is that Artemis finds an underground world with tons of new technology and fairies. In the plot, Artemis kidnaps one of the fairies. Then he holds the fair captive to restore his family's fortune. But he underestimated the fairy's power and cursed a war. This is why I think this book is a really good book, and I would recommend reading it. (Kiran. Grade 7)

I think the Genre of Artemis Fowl is Fantasy because of all the character and the stuff that happened in it. I recommend this book to people that isn't to young because they wont understand that many things but for people at least 9 and up should be able to read this with out hesitation. Artemis Fowl was a 12 year old boy who kidnapped a fairy and the adventure parts. I think that almost everyone can read this book. (Dag. Grade 7)

Artemis Fowl by: Eoin Colfer. This book is a fantasy and action book because there are multiple types of Northern mythological creatures such as fairies, centaurs and goblins. Near the end, there is a lot of fighting which is why it is also an action book.

This book is about Artemis Fowl, a 12-year-old criminal with an intellect that is comparable to an extremely educated adult’s intellect. In hopes of adding to his family’s riches; Artemis mingles with the fairy race, also known as The People. With his bodyguard named Butler, he battles the fairies for one of the most priced possession in the fairy race, fairy gold. This book has a great way of showing different perspectives. It makes you root for all of the characters when you are put in their shoes in the book. There were some words I was not familiar with so for vocabulary, it would get a rating of 3 out of 5. And for the book itself, it was amazing so it will be getting a 5 out of 5. (Philippe. Grade 7)

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. I believe this book is a mix of Science Fiction and a bit of mystery to it,  Aswell as some made-up mythology for the book. I would highly recommend this book. The book however could be challenging to read at times. But that challenged me, and in the end, I really liked it. The book’s point of view differs from the main characters, and when it does differ it is easy to pick up on. Because of how it differs we get a point of view and opinion on each character. It's got betrayal, master schemes, and action when it's needed. The mythology used is very well set, It explains to you why certain things can and can't do that or do this. Artemis Fowl (The main character) may not be the most likable of the characters, but he is said to be the most cunning, and the book demonstrates that many times. But not just him, some of the characters are said to have powerful skills. And most of them get to demonstrate those skills. I would suggest this book if you are into a mix of action, Science Fiction, Mythology, and a bit of Mystery. (Kai. Grade 7)
